Armenia, recently named a top global destination for 2025 by Lonely Planet, is an emerging tourism hub in the Caucasus celebrated for its deep spiritual heritage and dramatic mountainous landscapes. As the world's first nation to adopt Christianity, its tourism is anchored by UNESCO-listed treasures such as the cliff-carved Geghard Monastery and the Wings of Tatev, the world’s longest reversible aerial tramway.
Visitors are increasingly drawn to the "pink city" of Yerevan for its vibrant jazz scene and Soviet-era architecture, while the countryside offers diverse experiences from Lake Sevan’s high-altitude beaches to 6,100-year-old winemaking traditions in the Areni-1 cave. Despite recent fluctuations in regional travel, the sector remains a vital economic pillar, contributing over 11% to the national GDP and evolving into a year-round destination that balances ancient history with modern adventures like trekking in Dilijan and skiing in Tsaghkadzor.
